THE RIGHT TO PROTEST

Under DEMOCRACY, we all have the right to free speech and the right to protest on the streets.
What we do not have is the right to attack property, set fire to cars, throw stones and firebombs against the Police.
The Rule of Law must prevail. If we allow anarchy and criminal activities, we are on the slippery slope. So free speech Citizens Beware.

Recently, in the USA and the UK, there has been a dangerous pollution of free speech. Violence has erupted. Millions have taken to the streets to protest, for example against BREXIT and the election of Donald Trump as President of the USA.

The Truth and Facts have been swamped with Lies and twists of the truth. Here are some recent examples....

In the USA and the UK Banners of Minority Demonstrators are held aloft saying.....

" Trump is not my President."
" Trump is a Terrorist."
" Trump is a Racist "
" Trump is against all Muslims."
" Trump is damaging the environment. He must be stopped."
 "Trump - the Friend and Ally of Putin."
" Trump hates Refugees "
" Let them in."

Fact -Donald Trump is the legally elected President of the USA.
These claims are false and misleading.The danger is that uninformed people might think they are true.


In the UK banners of Demonstrators proclaim...

" Save the workers from BREXIT."
" Protect Workers Rights "
 " Stop Brexit "
" The Conservatives are against Immigrants."
" Stop the State visit of Trump."
" Save our Jobs "

Fact - The Majority Referendum Vote in the UK was for Brexit.
Brexit will protect Workers Rights. The Conservatives want Immigration but they want the Right to control who can enter the UK. No limitless Immigration or Asylum seekers. Control of our borders.
The majority want President Trump to visit the UK. Tony Blair arranged for the Queen to meet President Asaad of Syria some years ago ! Jobs will be protected by increasing Trade across the World including the EU.

You even see on TV very young children carrying Banners with Lies scribbled on them by their parents. What do these children know about the Subjects ?

I could go on and on. When these Protests combine Untruths and vociferous chanting by Millions, the result is not a strengthening of our Democratic way of life but a threat !
We cannot stop people demonstrating in this way. However, we must speak up against them when they act against facts, mislead on behalf of their own Political Agenda and twist the Truth.

The main Problem is this. Politicians from Opposition Parties fester these Lies and Distortions of the Truth for their own Political gain.
The Media also tend to add to the fire of resentment and opposition. They say 1.6 Million sign a Petition to stop the State Visit of President Trump. That is the Truth. But, what about the other 63 Millions or so of us ?
Are we to have rule by the vociferous minority ?

My view for the future is simply....Give Peaceful Demonstrations
their RIGHTFUL opportunity to demonstrate but, let the Majority of Citizens and The Media remain vigilant in safeguarding the Truth and our Peaceful coexistence.

Speak out the Majority, The Government and The Media. Do not let TV images trick you. Make your own minds up.

THE REMAINERS TWIST OF THE TRUTH ABOUT BREXIT

I am an avid follower of Question Time, Newsnight and The Marr programmes on TV.
Many politicians from Labour, LibDems and Scottish Nationalists
speak with total conviction, twisting the truth and deceiving the general Public.
Here are a few recent examples.....

The Remainers say.......

BREXIT supporters are against Immigration. Immigrants contribute a lot to the British economy. Where would the NHS be without Immigrants ?
How would the Farmers in Lincolnshire cope without Immigrants ?
We need Immigrants.

The Truth

BREXIT policy is not to ban Immigrants from the UK post BREXIT.
If the UK needs Immigrants they will have Work Permits granted.
The  Policy will be Controlled Immigration. No economic Migrants.
Controlled numbers of Asylum seekers.
A fair Policy based on UK needs.

The Remainers say.......

The UK must remain in the Single Market or else there will be a downturn in the Economy and a loss of jobs.

The Truth

The EU will not allow the UK into the Single Market unless the UK accepts Immigration and the free Movement of Labour.

Yes, this is the Truth. So, how can the Remainers expect the UK to accept this ? BREXIT voters demanded an end to freedom of movement. So, the UK cannot remain in the Single Market.

Scottish Nationalists say that they want Scotland to remain in the EU and the Single Market.......

The Truth

Scotland is part of the UK. It is unlikely that the EU would accept Scotland as a member. If this happened, Border Posts would have to be erected between Scotland and England. Passport checks would be made at all UK airports. Work permits would have to issued to Scottish Nationals.
In any case, Scotland would not be able to afford to contribute to EU funding. Scotland would have to pay the UK, £Billions as their share of the National Debt. Tell that to the Scottish people.

Scottish Nationals say....We have the Oil.

The Truth

No they don't. The Oil Industry is complex when it comes to who owns what. Investments include...The British Government, International Consortia, Public Money. It is the British Oil Industry within British Waters. Scotland is part of the UK. They do not have Scottish waters !

Remainers say that the UK are abandoning Europe.

The Truth

Not true and very misleading.
BREXIT says No to the EU. Yes to Europe.

Remainers say that if the UK is not in the Single Market, the UK will not be able to trade with the EU.

The Truth

Wrong again. The UK can trade with the EU post BREXIT.
It is a question of the Terms of Trade. The lower £ might compensate for any Tarriffs imposed by the EU.
UK corporate taxes might also compensate.
Lower production costs and UK productivity is another possible winner for the UK.
The ability of the UK post BREXIT to forge Global trade treaties will be very advantageous to the UK.
Global Joint Ventures will also be helpful to the UK.

Remainers say....There will be a threat to Workers Rights......

The Truth

Wrong. The UK intends to incorporate into British Law, safeguards from EU Law. Workers will not be worse off concerning Labour Legislation.

CONCLUSION

Remainers are deliberately twisting the facts and are just lying.
The tone of their voices on TV gives the impression that they are talking facts.

The Truth

They are wrong time and time again. Citizens be aware.
Do not believe the Scottish Nationalists, the LibDems or Labour.

Yes, the Conservatives are speaking the Truth. That is RIGHT !

GIVE DEMOCRACY A CHANCE

DEMOCRACY as a way of Government and a conduit to Power, Peace and Freedom is not perfect but it is the best system of Government we have in this world. That is my view.
The foundation of our Democracy is Free Elections open to all, Free Speech for very citizen backed up with Freedom of the Press and The Rule of Law.

When the result goes against you, you have every right to express your disappointment, to protest in lawful marches in the streets.

However, if we want to respect The Rule of Law and maintain peace in our communities, you are not entitled to protest with violence on the streets, harming property by smashing windows of shops, setting fire to cars, looting, storming Government buildings, attacking Politicians and trying to overthrow the legitimate Government. No, you do not have the right to anarchy.

The recent protests in the USA against the election of President Trump and the Worldwide marches against The President are an attack on DEMOCRACY itself.
Any attempt to overthrow the verdict of the American people or in the U.K. to overthrow the verdict of Brexit are unlawful and is an attempt to dismiss DEMOCRACY as a way of life.

These well meaning but anti DEMOCRACY protestors are entitled to their opinions, but the rest of us who accept Democratic verdicts must be vociferous in our opposition to the Protestors point of view. Many of the current Protestors carry banners with slogans that are simple not true. They stoke up emotions in a very negative way. They want to overthrow the will of the majority of citizens who have expressed their choices in fair and legal elections. They have no right to resort to violence and threats.

If we allow the rabble to win the argument, we are in real trouble.

The TRUTH is under attack in so many quarters today.
Untruths, misleading articles in the Media and often corrupt views from Politicians who just want Power abound in our Democratic Countries  today. That is why we are seeing radical change in the UK, USA, France, Italy, Germany , just to give a few examples.

Change is a cry to protect DEMOCRACY itself. Power, Unfair Wealth distribution,  Political arrogance had gone too far. I believe that the reason Trump got elected was that the people wanted a non career  Politician to be the President of the USA. A pragmatic man who would not be afraid to take decisions and stand up for America and Democracy. A Leader of the People. When Trump said at his inauguration - America First - don't we want Britain First. Don't the French want France First ? Yes, we want to make sure our Nation flourishes but at the same time, we are strong supporters of Democracy wherever the people want it. We do not seek to impose Democracy on anyone in the future. The Vietnam War was a mistake. I was in New York at the time. The reasoning given for the War was - The Domino Effect. Some Americans thought that they should stop Communism from spreading across South East Asia.
What a mistake. We must not make the same mistake again.
In the world today and the future DEMOCRACY and Communism must exist and live peacefully side by side.

The new President Donald Trump and the new British Prime Minister Theresa May have one major common factor. They are under attack from opposition factions. Daily lies, ridicule, personal insults are dished out daily.
I say......Give Democracy a chance. Be reasonable and judge them on results.
Both Trump and May have ambitious plans for the USA and the UK.

Give these leaders a chance.

The alternatives could be very bad for all of us. Do we want rule by the rabble ? Do we want an Isis style Government who would cut off your head if you opposed them ? Do you want to live under a Dictatorship ? Do you want to live in fear ?

I do not !

So, give DEMOCRACY a chance. Be fair. Respect democratic outcomes. Protest but obey the Law and do not resort to violence.
If the leaders do not perform to your liking, give the Free Ballot Box a chance.

IT IS THE ONLY WAY FORWARD.

I cannot believe how stupid some Politicians are concerning the UK's Future TRADING Relationship with the European Union post Brexit.
Most of then assert that if the UK are not in the Single Market, it will be doom and gloom for British Companies, a disaster for British jobs, a downturn in the Economy.
The Lib Dems, Plaid Cymru, the Scottish Nationalists and of course Labour echo these False views.
Many people in the UK follow these views thinking that the UK will not be able to trade with the UK post BREXIT. They believe that if the UK are not in the Single Market, Britain will be the loser.

WRONG on all counts !

As a member of The World Trade Association, Britain will continue to trade with the EU.
If the Single Market impose taxes on British goods, the UK will still be able to trade with The EU.

Here are some of the actions the UK can take if the EU impose taxes on British goods and services.....

1 - Reciprocate with taxes on EU imports. Who will lose ? The EU.
Britain buys far more goods from the EU than the EU buys from the UK.

2 - Britain will forge new Trade deals with the rest of the World. Great opportunities for British Companies.

3 - Corporate tax in the UK  is already one of the lowest in the World compared with EU rates.

4 - The £ / Euro rates can be manipulated into Britain's favour since we are not in the Eurozone.

5 - Britain will need to improve productivity to maintain a competitive advantage.

6 - It is unlikely that a Joint Venture Companies between UK.and  EU with be split up.

So, post BREXIT the UK will continue to trade with the EU.

UK negotiations with the EU will be a Joint Interest Exit.
Reality will click in. Reason will probably conquer.

The Red Line in the UK / EU negotiations should be British control of Immigration.

THE NHS BEDS CRISIS IN 2017

Some years ago, I wrote an extensive article about The Future Strategy for the NHS. It was full of innovative ideas about how we train Doctors and Nurses, Remedial Healthcare and Cutting out unnecessary expenditure. No one took any notice in Government.

Today in early 2017, I want to concentrate on one solution for a major problem which is experienced throughout the NHS......
We do not have any beds available.....this is the cry throughout the NHS.

Now I realise that the NHS cannot kick patients out if they are not well enough to return to the Community in order to release beds..
So, there is only one practical solution that has to be considered.
Increase the supply of beds. Increase the capacity and flexibility of bed supply !

SOME PROPOSED SOLUTIONS

1 - Wherever adjacent land is available build extensions to provide more beds.

2 - If land in situ is not available consider creating more Park and Ride car parks near to the hospital and convert some patient car parks into hospital extensions where the supply of beds can be increased.

3 - Extend hospital buildings by adding where possible extra floors to existing buildings.

4 - Extend Cottage hospitals rather than closing them down.

5 - This will require extra Government funds for a major building
programme.
This is far better than ploughing money into Salaries, Agency Workers,and Management.

EXAMPLE - WYCOMBE HOSPITAL

Recently, A and E was transferred from Wycombe Hospital to Stoke Mandeville Hospital which was already congested.
Near the Wycombe Hospital there is open land which could have been purchased and extra facilities built to make Wycombe a hub with many more beds.

I am convinced that the £Billions spent on the NHS is being spent with the wrong priorities.
If we have an ageing population, people living longer, a growth of population surely it is not rocket science to propose the building of more new hospitals, hospital extensions and conversions to hospitals.

There are still lots of Government land that could be used.
There are Commercial Buildings that could be purchased and converted to hospitals.
There are new build opportunities in most major cities. Many like High Wycombe example.

PRIORITISE NEW BEDS FACILITIES

I believe that successive Governments, Labour and Conservative have failed to improve the stock of new beds in the NHS.
I am fed up hearing in the Press and TV that the NHS do not have sufficient beds. For goodness sake, extra beds must be a Top Priority.

In the next decade, the demand for beds will grow even further.
Every day I hear the words from Doctors and Nurses saying....
We are firefighting every day. We simply do not have sufficient beds.

I believe that In Britain Today, we do not have enough Nursing Homes. This would release many beds for people who badly need hospital treatment.

Will anyone listen to my thoughts ?  Will the Government keep spending £Billions on the wrong priorities ? There should be a priority Hospital Bed Facilities allocation of funds, far greater than at present.

CONCLUSIONS

Can we have more creative thinking ?
Are NHS England stuck in a rut and incapable of broad thinking to solve the Beds Crisis in the NHS? Is the Government stuck in a bigger rut ?

I am sorry to conclude my answer is.....YES. There does not seem to be any creative thinking and priorities are muddled.
We will still have a beds Crisis, TV Documentaries, Government Denials, a Civil Service who seem incapable of proposing any innovative solutions to the Beds Crisis well into the next decade.
